How to make a poll in a group chat

A poll in WhatsApp
In the group, open the attach menu and choose Poll. The attach menu is the paperclip on Android and the plus on iPhone.
A WhatsApp poll holds a question and up to 12 options. It allows more than one answer unless you turn that off.
The votes are not anonymous. The whole group can see who chose which option.
A poll in iMessage
In the conversation, open the plus menu and choose Polls. A poll holds up to 12 options, and anyone in the chat can add another.
Polls need iMessage on iOS 26 or later. Android phones and iPhones on older versions get a message that a poll was sent, and cannot vote.
A poll in Messenger
In a Messenger group chat, open the menu near the bottom left and choose Create a poll. Write the question, then the options.
